Rebecca Dawson

Vision 2010 Project Manager, Arts Council England

Rebecca Dawson

"Rebecca stands out for the deep impact she has in every environment in which she works. Her genuinely empowering approach means that difficult tasks are accomplished by teams and coalitions in circumstances where initially success seems far off. Rebecca is a genuine all-round star performer."

Commended for outstanding work for Arts Council England at every stage in her seven year service, Rebecca has been promoted from Assistant Officer to Project Manager.  Rebecca built an enviable reputation in the dance sector whilst working in the Dance Unit for ACE.  Dance artists are particularly vocal about her quiet, clear but unswerving support.  Tireless and determined in her belief in public benefit, she made investment decisions that were timely, fair and developmental - both for the sector and for individuals and companies.

In her current role, she is leading the conceptualisation and delivery of a range of projects for Vision 2012, the Arts Council’s Cultural Olympiad programme.  In this high profile role, Rebecca is demonstrating her political skills in marshalling diverse stakeholders to hold sincerely to a common vision and its execution; and her extraordinary levels of engagement and empathy with artists.

Rebecca is a genuine all-round star performer.  She is at home with financial and business plans, PR campaigns, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic visioning and programme evaluation.  She has a sharp analytical mind and a truly empathetic understanding of other needs and anxieties.  Rebecca stands out for the deep but often quiet impact she has in every environment in which she works.
