An outstanding achiever, Sharnita is recognised for her work at the forefront of innovations in South Asian and British Dance music and creative change.
Previously Head of Press for Media Moguls, Sharnita was the first Asian woman to head a record label, Shaanti Play Records utilising her leadership qualities to bring out the potential of every project she conducts. Her club night Shaanti, now in its 11th year, was the first Brit-Asian club night to play at Fabric, the first to release a triple CD with Ministry of Sound/Decadance and the first to have two live broadcasts on Radio 1 making this and Shaanti an authentic vehicle to advance cultural development amongst multi-cultural communities. She is an outstanding business leader who continues to play a leading part in advising and shaping policy for South Asian music development in this country.
As owner of The Hockley Bar & Kitchen, described as, Birmingham's Hottest New Underground Venue (MixMag 2009), Sharnita brings her creative passion together with food, fashion, art and live music from across a wide range of influences and genres to the city of Birmingham.
