"In the whole field of UK museum and historic site interpretation there are genuinely few people who are constantly challenging the status quo and producing creative innovation that differs from what has gone before. Ruth is one of this small band of innovators."

In the whole field of UK museum and historic site interpretation, there are genuinely few innovators who are constantly challenging the status quo and producing creative innovation that differs from what has gone before. Ruth is one of these in her work at Historic Royal Palaces.

Developing the new Interpretation Team from scratch, Ruth has formulated and implemented the Interpretation Strategy across five palaces, creating a programme that reaches approximately 3 million visitors a year.

In leading her team and contractors to deliver award winning work, Ruth encompasses an extraordinary breadth of vision for what is possible, a real understanding for what visitors will respond to, a rare ability to integrate different art forms and creative voices, and high levels of empathy to the particular spirit of any site she works.

Ruth is now acting as Creative Director for HRP’s new major project at Kensington Palace and is taking on a similar role in the re-presentation of the Crown Jewels. Both of these projects will make a national impact at their opening in 2012.
